Plot Overview
Former beauty queen Shannon Jeffrey of Tennessee believes that a perfect appearance is everything. She spends up to $36,000 a year to keep the house decorated and constantly plucks the eyebrows of her three daughters: 15-year-old Jesstine, 11-year-old Alyssa and 9-year-old Trinity. When husband Wayne isn't busy flying commercial jets as a pilot, he is obsessively cleaning up the house and spoiling his wife & daughters instead of spending time with them.
Shannon swaps lives with Belinda Greiner, who lives in Pennsylvania with her husband, George and two children: 10-year-old Madison and 9-year-old Seth. The family house is filled with animals and items that they purchase at thrift stores or find in the trash. Belinda believes in spending time with her kids and animals instead of cleaning up after them; she also homeschools Seth and Madison in order to spend more time with them. George works 16 hours a day as a carpenter to support the family, but spends so much time fixing other people's houses, he has no time to work on the unfinished products at his own house.
