Plot Overview
Divorced single mother Michelle Parsons of Michigan lives with her three daughters: 17-year-old Jennifer, 14-year-old Julie and 9-year-old Jodi in a working-class suburb in the same neighborhood in the same house that she grew up in. While Michelle does all of the household chores, her daughters treat their mother like their own personal maid and are very quick to take advantage of her. In order to make sure that they don't get into trouble, Michelle allows the girls to do whatever they want.
Michelle swaps places with Elaine Bramhall of New Jersey. She and her husband, Jacques (or "Moose") are obsessed with keeping their home nice and clean; Elaine maps out a schedule for every 15 minutes of her family's lives while Moose's obsession with cleaning restricts him from spending time with his children: 9-year-old Jacques and 7-year-old Emily. Elaine and Moose believe that their kids should be raised as model citizens, have very high standards for them and encourages them to explore their interests through educational projects.
