Plot Overview
Kimberly Yonts is a stay-at-home mother from Kentucky who is devoted to her family and entering her 5-year-old daughter, Hannah in beauty pageants where she has won numerous crowns and trophies since she was 3 months old; her 3-year-old daughter, Maddie doesn't do pageants, but she's constantly reminded of her big sister's success. Kimberly does all the household chores and makes sure that everyone looks their best. The family also eats fast food and microwave meals in front of their TV.
Kimberly travels to Pennsylvania where she swaps lives with Ramona Jan, a free-spirited artist who embraces creativity, shops only at the thrift store and doesn't wear makeup. She has also banned TV and competition from the house. She and her fitness trainer husband, Andre encourage their 10-year-old daughter, Lucy to pursue music, puppets and dancing, and even supported Lucy's decision to leave school and be home-schooled by a tutor.
