The Heart of the Cards is the first episode of the first season of Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters, and the first episode overall.
Yugi Muto, a high school student who enjoys playing Duel Monsters, speaks of a rare card, the Blue Eyes White Dragon, which his grandfather owns. Seto Kaiba, the Duel Monsters champion, has been searching for this card, so he steals it and tears it up. Yugi duels to Kaiba to show him the heart of the cards.
