×××HOLiC is a fantasy anime program based on an ongoing manga series published by Kodansha since 2003. Created by CLAMP, the series features references to characters from their previous works, and crosses over directly with Tsubasa Chronicle.

The series follows the daily adventures of Watanuki, a teenage boy who is haunted by his ability to see spirits. One day he wanders into the mansion owned by Yūko, a strange witch who runs a shop where she "sells" people what they need, but not necessarily what they want. In exchange for his not having to see spirits ever again, he agrees to work for her. Despite this arrangement, he often finds himself entangled in supernatural dealings that cause him far too much trouble.

At several points the program interconnects with Tsubasa Chronicle, and Yūko has a significant role in both stories.
