- Zashiki-warashi: She is still harboring a crush on Watanuki, and gives him fried tofu for the pipe fox. When he meets her in the spirit world, he gives her a set of hair pins in return for the tofu.
- Tengu guardians: The zashiki-warashi starts to cry from happiness when Watanuki gives her the hair pins, which the guardians misunderstand, attacking Watanuki again.
