A Very Missing Person (1972) is a TV movie adaptation of the Hildegarde Withers novel Hildegarde Withers Makes the Scene, in which the schoolteacher detective helps solve the case of the murder of an heiress. It aired as part of the ABC Movie of the Week and was intended as a pilot for a series to be called Great Detectives. Two other pilots had already aired—Hound of the Baskervilles (also an ABC Movie of the Week) and The Adventures of Nick Carter—but the series never sold.
