Wolfram & Hart is a law firm (and later corporation) which serves evil clients. Later in the series it is learned that the name comes from Wolf, Ram, and Hart (stag). Illyria claimed that it was a very old demon, but barely stronger than the vampire. Wolfram & Hart has always had a role to play in the apocalypse standing on the side opposite of Angel.
