Memorable Moments

  • Danilo Zemesca was found murdered in a remote desert. The evidence links to Thomas Simon. But when Brass arrives at Simon's strip club to arrest him, he learned that he hasn't been seen for weeks.
  • Undersheriff McKeen pressures Catherine and Keppler to catch Simon. Keppler had a plan: perform reverse forensics. Catherine quickly pointed out that it would make them betray her fellow CSIs, but McKeen rejected her protests and orders her to do it.
  • Sara and Warrick investigate the death of woman in a motel room, named Monique Carter. During the autopsy, Nick noticed the tattoo on Monique's arm which is the same on the photo at the Zemesca case, meaning the two cases are related.
  • Nick tells Catherine and Keppler that Monique's tattoo matches the photo at the Zemesca crime scene hypothesizing that Simon drove Monique's car to the Zemesca crime scene. But Catherine said that the fingerprints from her crime scene point to Edwin Dennison.
  • Nick gets angry when he saw the Undersheriff talking to the press that Dennison confessed to murder on the news, and gets mad even more when he explained to Catherine that he can't find the Holstein evidence while Catherine ordered him to back off.
  • Fed up, Nick rounds up Sara, Warrick and Greg to tell them his concerns about Catherine and Keppler. They also recall Catherine and Keppler engaging in various suspicious activities throughout the course. They agreed to Nick to find out what Catherine and Keppler are up to.
  • Nick, Sara, Warrick, and Greg recovered the Holstein evidence and realized that the crime scene was a fake.
  • The reverse forensics worked, Brass found Simon in the strip club, no longer in hiding and arrested him. But the District Attorney refused to charge Simon for murder, declaring that she cannot tell fact from fiction in the case. Because of that, Brass confronted McKeen for not clearing the operation with the DA and removed him from the case.
  • Catherine and Keppler come clean to tell the other CSIs the information about reverse forensics. Keppler noted that Simon was a fugitive and the only way to get him to show his face was to make him think he was off the hook. Catherine understood how suspicious and hurt her friends are and apologized.
  • The phone records from Monique's cell phone point to Simon, as do the fingerprints from the motel room. It was revealed that Zemesca and Monique were college classmates. Simon is arrested for the murder of Zemesca and Monique.
