Plot Overview

Daniel preps himself to go on the popular Backtalk with Baxter Sarno to put a good spin on his daughter's role in the bombing tragedy, despite protests from Amanda who is unaware that Sam is waiting for his moment to carry out his brother's requested hit.

Meanwhile, the GDD begin raids and searches for evidence linked to the Soldiers of the One, as Lacy tries to get Keon to help her make Zoe's delivery to Gemenon.

  • Captain Ahab - "Was Love"

Arc Advancement

Happenings

  • Another bombing is carried out, although there are no causalities.
  • Duram gets a warrant to search lockers at the Athena Academy, but Clarice is giving a heads up by someone unidentified. She relays this to Keon who manages to get suspicious materials out of his locker before the agents show up.
  • The GDD gets a search warrant to raid the Graystone property, seizing everything from Zoe's room. Unfortunately for them, like with the Athena Academy, nothing turns up. Durm gets Singh to monitor the students' communication to sniff out more STO operatives, believing there maybe a conspiracy to clean up evidence.
  • Lacy tries to get Keon to help she and Zoe get to Gemenon, but all he can do is talk to Barnabas Greeley who will decide if she gets the STO's help.
  • Daniel reveals that he made an avatar of Zoe on Backtalk. Clarice catches it when it airs.

Characters

  • Daniel goes on Backtalk and fumbles until he is saved by Amanda. They manage to save face when Daniel points out that it was the immorality of v-world that let the STO in. With hackers severing control from the makers, taking the profit away would break this. He then claims that Graystone Industries will no longer charge for the licensing of legal spaces in the v-world and any holoband profits will go toward a foundation or charity set up to help set children on a better path. However, Cyrus points out that it accounts for 60% of the company's net.
  • Joseph gets cold feet over his hit on Amanda. To his relief, Sam got his messages and didn't go through with it, knowing his brother would chicken out, calling him a "Caprican in a Tauron body."

Memorable Moments

Goofs

  • Singh says that the bombing of the Holo Cafe occurred "in the middle of the night." However, as just viewed moments earlier, it's clearly not night when the bomb goes off. This mistake is repeated later when Duram tells Amanda that it was in the middle of the night.
  • Daniel tells Amanda that he's about to go on international television. Presumably, he means "intercolonial".

Quotes

  • Amanda: We are not company spokespeople. We're parents!
Daniel: Parents? Actually, no, we're not.
  • Amanda: What is this to you? Did you lose someone on that train?
Agent Duram: I lost everyone on that train.
  • Daniel: My solstice wish was for free publicity. Probably should have been a little more specific.
(the audience is silent save for a cough)
Baxter Sarno: I feel so much better about my monologue right now.
