Plot Overview

Company rival Tomas Vergis confronts Daniel over the theft of the meta-cognitive processor and the two workers who were murdered in the robbery. However, his means of revenge aren't quite what Daniel expects.

Keon takes Lacy to meet Barnabas Greeley, leader of the Soldiers of the One. Troubled over the work he's been doing with the STO, Clarice hopes to gain attention by presenting the Zoe avatar and sets course by taking it directly from Daniel's lab.

Notes

Arc Advancement

Happenings

  • Tomas Vergis sets about revenge for the murder of his two employees during the MCP theft. He offers to buy the Caprican Buccaneers from him for 300 million cubits in order to get the MCP working. Daniel initially believes Vergis is trying to make a play at the military contract, but Vergis confesses that his revenge relates to the two murdered men who were like family to him. As a Tauron, he adheres to the philosophy of "blood for blood" and therefore aims to take his team, but before he finally eliminates his company, he plans to take away so much more Daniel holds precious.
  • It's believed the bombs are being set off by Barnabas Greeley. According to Alvo, the conclave wishes to follow his lead. However, Clarice believe he's just doing the church's "dirty work" and wants time to present the conclave with a tangible afterlife. She moves closer to this by managing to get a copy of Zoe's avatar from Daniel's computer, which can be used to replicate her program.
  • Barnabas agrees to see Lacy, but dismisses her when she won't reveal what the cargo is. After questioning Keon for feeling guilty about building the bomb that Stark used, he urges Keon to find out what the cargo is before discussing it further.
  • Joseph has Evelyn track down Heracles.

Characters

  • The Graystones have successfully restored their public image.
  • Daniel keeps Amanda in the dark about Vergis and the MCP.
  • Amanda strikes up a friendship with Clarice, oblivious that Clarice is using her as a means to getting to Daniel's computer.
  • Zoe approaches Philo by posing as a girl in a dating website, claiming to have taken Zoe's avatar, which he has no problem with.

Trivia

The Show

  • John Pyper-Ferguson had a couple of guest appearances on Battlestar Galactica as Captain Cole "Stinger" Taylor during the Pegasus storyline of Season 2. Erica Carroll had a guest role in the episode "Sacrifice".
  • For the second episode in a row, Brian Markinson does not appear. His scenes (which included Peter Wingfield) were part of a subplot that got dropped concerning a new computer for face recognition.

Behind the Scenes

  • James Marsters was considered for the part of Vergis before it was decided that he was better suited for the character of Barnabas.

Quotes

  • Serge: Greetings, Sister Clarice. Welcome to the Graystone residence.
Clarice: I take it I'm supposed to respond to you.
Serge: Only if you wish. I am called Serge.
Clarice: Well, that's an unfortunate name.
