Plot Overview

In 1976, a maid for a rich family witnessed a young girl being beaten to death in a tennis court and did nothing about it. Twenty-seven years later, that same maid, now suffering from both cancer and grief over what she saw comes forth to Philadelphia homicide detective Lilly Rush, who reopens the case. In visiting the dead girl's mother, Lilly discovers that she doesn't consider her daughter's boyfriend or his brother suspects in the murder, but that many other folks do, The boyfriend is now a powerful lawyer who's willing to make trouble for the young cop for reopening old wounds, and the brother is a sad sack of a drunk who falls off the wagon under Lilly's questioning. She keeps after them, certain that the boyfriend's temper got the better of him that fateful night.
