Plot Overview

Dominic and Leo look at the death of a man found stabbed in the chest, suggesting a suicide.

Mick and Kosmo investigate a robbery turned homicide when they find that the woman was to testify in a murder case.

• Claire tells Dominic that they have found a way the legality of the safe injection site with Health Canada providing an exemption, but tells him that he will have to dump his proposal of a red light district in order to better his chances with the police board.

• Kosmo gives Sue money to buy dope off Brian. She lies about it being a purchase as Brian exchanged it for oral sex.

• Dominic talk with Joan Hanes, a witness to the injection site beating.

• Kosmo: I remember this cop from Seattle I was dating. It was about ten years ago? I was still in uniform. Anyway, I'm showing him my beat down here.

Mick: This was your first beat?

Kosmo: Yeah.

Mick: Really?

Kosmo: So I'm showing him my beat and he says, uh, he says, "I didn't know you had ghettos in Canada."

Mick: Huh. Well, yeah, you take a look around, I can see how one might think that.

Kosmo: So, anyway, I told him it's not the same thing. I mean, it's not based just on race like it is down there.

Mick: Uh-huh.

Kosmo: And he says, "I see a lot of native people, so that makes it a race thing."

Mick: Nah. Nah. It's a lot of things. It's a class thing. It's a dope thing. It's a poverty thing. It's a housing thing. Chances are, yeah, if you're native, you got a brother or uncle living down here where it's nice and cheap.

Kosmo: This is where you come to live.

Mick: So what he'd say to that?

Kosmo: Oh, uh, he said, uh, he said that's a typical Canadian reaction. Bury your head in the sand. Really pissed me off.

Mick: Yeah, I hate that kind of arrogance. It pisses me off, too.
