Quotes
- Kosmo: I remember this cop from Seattle I was dating. It was about ten years ago? I was still in uniform. Anyway, I'm showing him my beat down here.
- Mick: This was your first beat?
- Kosmo: Yeah.
- Mick: Really?
- Kosmo: So I'm showing him my beat and he says, uh, he says, "I didn't know you had ghettos in Canada."
- Mick: Huh. Well, yeah, you take a look around, I can see how one might think that.
- Kosmo: So, anyway, I told him it's not the same thing. I mean, it's not based just on race like it is down there.
- Mick: Uh-huh.
- Kosmo: And he says, "I see a lot of native people, so that makes it a race thing."
- Mick: Nah. Nah. It's a lot of things. It's a class thing. It's a dope thing. It's a poverty thing. It's a housing thing. Chances are, yeah, if you're native, you got a brother or uncle living down here where it's nice and cheap.
- Kosmo: This is where you come to live.
- Mick: So what he'd say to that?
- Kosmo: Oh, uh, he said, uh, he said that's a typical Canadian reaction. Bury your head in the sand. Really pissed me off.
- Mick: Yeah, I hate that kind of arrogance. It pisses me off, too.
