Happenings

  • A drunk woman, Sandy Whelan, being seen carried away by a woman to her home turns up dead in the park.
  • During a presentation by an FBI agent from San Francisco, Dominic and others notice similarities in cases spread over several territories, from San Francisco, Portland, Bellingham, and now into Vancouver.
  • A man named Jerome Morton comes to Dominic after hearing about the girl in the park, although it isn't her. His daughter was last seen drinking in a hotel bar in Kamloops. He's offering a $50,000 reward.
  • The woman last seen with the girl found dead leads another woman, Joanna, out of the bar. She's helped by a man who turns out to be her husband who abduct her and back to their house. However, she later manages to escape.
  • It's deduced that the killer is aware of the jurisdictional limitations and taking advantage of it.
  • Dominic and Helen look back at files as far as ten years, ranging from 16 to 40, strangled under the influence of carbinol or similar drugs.
  • The victim's carbinol is run against similar cases in Vancouver, one of which leads to a sexual assault accusation against a man named Dean Resnick who was a suspect in four other rape charges. He got into an accident and married his nurse. He was last heard taking a honeymoon in Ireland, but he may have switched IDs.
  • Regan has a private DNA test run on the saliva on Sandy Whelan and it's discovered it was female while the others saliva were male and he concludes she's not connected.

Characters

  • Dominic gets intimate with Agent Turner.
