Trivia
- Contrary to popular belief, this is not the first series to be cancelled and picked up again by the same network. That honor goes to 1982's Cagney and Lacey. However, this was the only series to be renewed due to DVD sales.
- Originally, the titles of the episodes were supposed to be like 1940s mystery radio shows. This is why the first several episodes of the series have a reference to death in the title. Eventually this idea was dropped when writers were forced to describe the episodes instead of just using the title.
- The series set the record for the best selling television DVD of all time with volume 1.
- In a British TV poll entitled "100 Greatest Cartoons," Family Guy was rated as the #5 show.
- The series has been cancelled three times in all.
