Basic Information
On Family Guy, the character of Jesus Christ is primarily featured in episodes and/or gags satrical to religion, primarily Christianity. Perhaps intended to be sacrilegious, he is depicted in flashbacks and in modern-day Quahog, often performing miracles that are exaggerated examples of those as told in the Bible.
Several times, Jesus has been paired with God, usually as part of the gags described above.
Although the character has appeared in several episodes throughout the history of Family Guy, his first extensive role was in the 2008 episode "I Dream of Jesus." In that episode, Peter realizes that a man working at a used record store is Jesus, who explains that he is living undercover on Earth, as he does every few centuries. The story incorporates several examples of Jesus' biblical abilities in a modern setting and becomes a major mainstream celebrity as a result; eventually, Jesus is jailed for drunken behavior but Peter shows his friendship by standing by him in his hour of need.
The Jesus character is also central in the episode "The 2000-Year-Old Virgin," where Peter, his family and friends try to find a woman for Jesus to have sex with in time for his birthday.
