Son of Jack Crichton. Has two children. John Crichton is a second generation astronaut and a genius to boot. He studied at MIT and had a theory that he could use the Earth's gravity to propel ships into deep space. John Crichton, while testing his experiment on Farscape One, hit an unexpected radiation surge from a solar flare. This solar flare opened a wormhole to the other end of the galaxy. Crichton landed in the middle of a battle and hit a Peacekeeper Prowler. The Prowler bounced off of Farscape One and killed the pilot inside. Crichton saw a huge ship in front of him, a ship he would later call home.
John Chrichton was brought aboard a living ship named Moya. The crew were prisoners breaking free from the Peackeepers. The crew consisted of three prisoners; General Ka D'argo, Dominar Rygel XVI, and Pa'u Zotoh Zhaan. Moya had also taken aboard a Peackeeper piolt, Ayren Sun.
John struggled to acclimate to life aboard his new found ship. Most of the crew did not trust him, with the exception of Zhaan. During his first year aboard Moya, Chrichton was being chased by Commader Crais because the Commander thought Chrichton was responsible for the death of his brother, who happened to be the Peacekeeper pilot Crichton killed while exiting the wormhole. While in the uncharted territories, Chrichton had made new friends and dangerous enemies that would play bigger parts in his life.
