Plot Overview
The Pack (minus Dingo) is working in Egypt on a project for Xanatos.
Goliath, Elisa, Angela and Bronx arrive near the Sphinx. As they go to take a look, the robot Coyote appears. The travelers hide and observe Coyote enter a secret passage. They follow into the passage to interrupt a summoning ceremony which brings forth the Anubis, Jackal, Lord of Death.
The travelers engage in battle with the Pack and are defeated.
After the battle is complete, the Emir dismisses the Pack. He demands a favor from the Anubis, the return his dead son, threatening Anubis with permanent imprisonment.
When Anubis refuses, the Emir threatens to use a spell to become an avatar, a human vessel for divine energy.
The Emir orders the Pack to dispose of the travelers. They are being taken for execution when Elisa begins a jail break.
Breaking away from the pack, the travelers flee back to the ceremonial chamber in an attempt to prevent the Emir from casting his spell.
The Emir has already begun the spell. Just as he reaches the climax of the spell, Jackel runs forwards and pushes the Emir aside, intercepting the avatar energy and transforming.
Jackel uses his new powers to age the travelers. Goliath pleads with the Emir for the life of his daughter before Angela and Goliath attack Jackel. Jackel easily casts them aside. Goliath lands near the scroll with the avatar spell. He tosses it to the Emir who uses the spell to take the avatar power from Jackel into himself.
With his new power, the Emir restores the others to their proper age before destorying the ceremonial chamber so no one will ever be able to trap the god Anubis again.
Notes
- Goliath reveals to Elisa that gargoyles age at half the rate of humans.
