Plot Overview

After arriving in London, Elisa, Goliath, Angela and Bronx find their way to a little shop in Soho. There Elisa is accosted by a group of local ruffians. The Gargoyles quickly deal with them only to be accosted by a pair of English gargoyles, Leo and Una. They claim to know Goliath from 1940 and the Battle of Britain when they believe he fought in World War II. Their friend, Griff, fought with Goliath at the Battle of Britain. Believing that both had died, they erected statues in memory of the fallen heroes.

During a confrontation in Leo and Una's bookstore, Una uses magic to incapacitate the travelers. When Goliath awakes he is alone. Una and Leo have hidden the others.

In order to find out what happened in the past, Goliath activates the Phoenix Gate and travels to 1940. There he is saved from a collision with an airplane by Griff, the gargoyle he is accused killing in the future.

Griff takes Goliath back to his home in London where Goliath is introduced to Una and Leo. When the Nazis begin bombing London again, Griff and Goliath go out to fight.

Danger after danger threatens Griff, until finally Goliath realizes that it is not Griff's fate to survive. He uses the Phoenix Gate to take Griff back to the present.

There, Una and Leo are telling Elisa and Angela and Goliath has abandoned them. Leo realizes it is their own guilt for not supporting Griff which has haunted them all these years and releases Elisa, Angela and Bronx.

Goliath appears in the present with Griff and reunites the English gargoyles.
