Forget Me Not is the thirtieth episode of the first season of Gilligan's Island.

Plot Overview

Having learned that Navy Ship will be passing by their Island,The Skipper,and Gilligan go to work preparing to signal the Navy Ships.While working ,Gilligan inadvertedly pulls a vine holding one of the Poles.The Pole slips,and conks the Skipper on the head.He falls to the ground,unconscience.Gilligan noticing the Skipper on the ground figures he is sleeping.He scoops some water in his Cap,and dowse the Skipper into consciecness.The Skipper does not recognize Gilligan.He has developed Amnesia.Gilligan tries to jag the Skippers memory,but to no avail.The same thing happens when the Professor tries to get the Skipper to recall the Shipwreck,and the Minnow.The Professor introduces the Skipper to the Howells,and in an attempt to jag the Skippers memory,Mr.Howell offers the Skipper large Fleets of Ships,but to no avail.Gilligan introduces The Skipper to Mary Ann for whom the Skipper refers to as Ma'am.He bumps into Ginger for whom he flirts with,and then begins to get physical,and tries to make out with.The Professor arrives to prevent anything from happening.Later in the evening,The Professor has a meeting with the others to discuss the Skippers situation.They all agree that their must make every effort to help the Skipper to remember.When the Professor mentions that a possible blow to the head could regain the Skippers memory,The Howells,first Mr.Howell conks who he thought was the Skipper,but sees that it is Gilligan with a Coconut.Gilligan had switched Hammocks with the Skipper because felt as though he was sinking in Quicksand.After Mr.Howell conks Gilligan,he realizes his mistakes,and runs back to his Hut,and tells Lovey.Seeing her Husband upset over the mistake,Lovey decides to do what her husband fail to do.At this time the Skipper feels that Gilligan was correct in him not liking the upper Hammock,and ask if he could switch again.Gilligan not knowing what hit him agrees to the switch.Having gotten back in the upper Hammock,Gilligan prepares to go to sleep when Lovey enters,and hit him with the Coconut.She sees that it is Gilligan,and runs.Gilligan has another confused look of what is going on.The following Day,The Professor attempts hypnosis to help the Skipper remember using his watch.At first the hypnosis works but not the way the Professor wanted.He hypnotizes the Skipper into believing that he is a child,and that the other Castaways are his playmates.Later,the Professor using the watch again making the Skipper believe that he has grown up,and is on an Island somewhere in the South Pacific.When the Skipper opens his eyes,he sees the others as Japanese Soldiers.The Professor unwittingly made the Skipper believe that he is a Soldier during World War 2.The Skipper believing this runs into the Jungle,and disappears.The Castaways attempt to find him,but the Skipper seeing them first,and still believing them to be the enemy,take their needed supplies:Rifles etc,and captures them two at a time,and locks them in a Cave Jail.The Ships that were coming pass the Island appears in the distance.The Professor desperately tries to make the Skipper remember using the watch that he swings back and forth.The result of this is that both Gilligan,and Howell believe themselves as the Skipper,and try to boss each other around.The Skipper seeing this tries to stop the bickering.He enters the Cave Jail to try to stop it,but Gilligan bops his over the head with a telescope.This brings the Skippers memory back.Seeing Gilligan,and Howell arguing over who the Skipper is,he goes to both of them,and bops their heads together.This brings both back to their sense.The other Castaways are overjoyed that the Skipper has his memory back.Later,Gilligan is looking through the telescope to see if the Ships are around.No signs unfortunately.Gilligan attempting come down from the latter that he was standing on falls to the ground,hits his head,and now has Amnesia.

Notes

In this episode the Skipper,and by the episodes end,Gilligan would both have Amnesia.On a later episode,Mary Ann would develope Amnesia.She would believe herself as Ginger.
