Plot Overview
While a Hole to put their Supply in,Gilligan finds a round object shaped like a Coin. The Skipper says that Gilligan has found the legendary Eye of the Idol.Acccording to legend, the finder of the Object is granted three wishes, before the Sun goes down on the day of finding. The Professor is sceptical of the legend, but the Skipper feels he is right.Gilligan is uncertain, but if true he wishes for a Gallon of Ice Cream.Suddenly something appears in the Lagoon. While The Skipper, and Professor are arguing the legend,Gilligan scoop up the object, which turns out to be a Gallon of Chocolate Ice Cream. The Castaway gorge on the Ice Cream, but the Professor is still adamate about the find which he gives credit to a Plane which may have dropped the Gallon of Ice Cream from the sky.Adamate,or not the other Castaways believe in the magic of the Eye of the Idol. They try to get Gilligan to wish for other things:To be the richest Man in the World, to be the Handsome etc..The most expected wish they want Gilligan to wish for is for all of them to get off the Island.Gilligan unwittingly wishes for another Gallon of Ice Cream, this one Vanilla.Realizing that he used the second wish,The Skipper gets everybody together fot the final wish:To get off the Island.Everybody gathers together for readiness to get off the Island except the Professor who is still sceptical.Unforetunately,Gilligan loses the Eye of the Idol, because he has a hole in his Pocket. The Castaway go in search of the Idol.It is found, but the Professor still refuses to go along with what he believes is his fellow Castaways wasting their time.Just as Gilligan is about to make the wish, each Castaway except the Skipper decides that they do not want to leave their fellow Castaways.Wanting to put an end to the supersticion once, and for all,the Professor agrees to try it.They all brace themselves when Gilligan wishes them off the Island.Suddenly, the part where the Castaways are standing starts to pull away, and stops in the middle of the Lagoon.Later in the evening the Castaways discuss the events, and now they all are sceptical of the Idols power. The explanation mentioned earlier seems to make sense to the others. As for the part of the Island breaking apart, and stopping in the middle of the Lagoon, well the digging earlier seems to loosen the part.Gilligan feeling that the Eye of the Idol has caused them trouble, throws the Idol away.Perhaps the next person finding it will have better success.Having said this the other Castaways, even the Professor believe in the power.Everyone of them goes looking for the Idol.Unknowing to them,Gilligan pretended to throw the Eye of the idol away.He still has it.Probably to keep as a Souveneir.
Notes
The Professors explanation of the part where the Castaways were standing breaking apart because of their earlier digging a hole to put the Supplies in is probably what cause the Island part to flow in the Lagoon.
