Plot Overview
While searching around,Gilligan meets a Jungle Boy.The Jungle Boy cannot speak much words, but can communicate using gestures.Gilligan, and the Jungle Boy become playmates. They run,and swing on vines through the Jungle(although Jungle Boy is more graceful).Jungle Boy shows Gilligan a small antlike Hill covered with a small Rock.Within the Hill is Hyleum that blows upward.Surprised, and happy at this find,Gilligan takes Jungle Boy to meet the others. At first Jungle Boy is untrusting of the other Castaways, but he soon comes to trust them. The Castaways each try to communicate with the Boy,with mixed success.Gilligan shows the other Castaways the small Hill with the helium inside. With this discovery, the Professor comes up with the idea of how they can use the helium to get off the Island. The idea is to use all of their Raincoats as a Balloon tie the Raincoats to a large Basket, and fly one of them off the Island. The men go to work on the Balloon, and after determining the weight of each, the one person who could fly the Balloon to Civilization is the Jungle Boy.The Castaways discuss the matter with some for,and others against, since the flight might prove risky for the Boy.After assuring of the safety to the Boy,and writing a note to put in the Boy's Pocket(since the Boy cannot speak fruent words)for rescuers to find, the Castaways are all convinced that the Balloon, and Jungle Boy will be safe. The Jungle Boy having listened to the Castaways talking about him,and the Balloon, decides to get into the Balloon, and fly away.Gilligan alerts the others of the Boys disappearance.Knowing that he knew that they were talking about him,and the Balloon, the Castaways feared that the Jungle Boy would take off in the Balloon, they ran to where the Balloon was secure.Just as they feared, the Balloon is gone with Jungle Boy.The Professor assures Mrs.Howell who feared the Jungle Boys fate, that he will be safe. The following Day while listening to the Radio,The Castaways learn that the Boy was found by rescuers. They also learn that the Boy is unable to tell the Authorities where he was,and who made the Balloon, which they felt he could'nt have made himself. It will take years to learn where the Boy had been, and who made the Balloon. The only words that they will get out of the Boy is"Boy,Boy,Girl,Girl,No,No".At least the Castaways can be happy that the Jungle Boy is safe, despite their being still being on the Island.
