Plot Overview
Matt searches for notorious outlaw Black Jack Haggen, who shot and killed an old farmer and attempted to do the same to the man's grandson when he escaped to get help. Matt is joined by the outlaw's nephew, Festus Haggen, who has his own reasons for wanting to catch his uncle and bring him to justice.

Originally intended as a one-shot character, Festus was later phased in as a recurring character and eventually became a regular with the start of the tenth season in 1964
