ITV Studios (formerly known as ITV Productions and Granada Productions) is a television production owned and operated by British TV broadcaster ITV plc. Based in Greater Manchester and London, it is considered the UK's biggest production company, considered on sales and distribution, consumer products, and production on a global scale.

History

The company's roots trace back to the launch of Granada Productions, the in-house production arm of Granada Television, in 1954, and the launch of Central Independent Television's international sales operator, Central Television Enterprises, in 1987. In 2009, both Granada and Carlton International merged to become its current name ITV Studios. But until 2013, some of the company's subsidiaries, like ITV Studios Australia, were still carrying the Granada name.
