Basic Information
Waitress is a character on It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia who has remained unnamed despite frequent appearances in the first two seasons. She has been an object of romantic interest for Charlie, despite the fact that she is more interested in Dennis.
Character History
The waitress worked at a coffee shop that the gang frequented. Although they would often sit outside, Charlie would often go in just to see her. She never liked him and found him to be offensive, but somehow always missed opportunities to see Dennis be just as immoral. Instead she would happen to see him in situations that looked sympathetic, such as coaching kid's basketball in The Gang Gives Back. Also in that episode we learn that the waitress is a former alcoholic.
Memorable Moments
- In The Gang Gives Back the waitress pretends to be concerned for Charlie's drinking and becomes his sponsor after he is forced to go to AA as part of court order. In reality, she was using Charlie in order to get closer to Dennis. When she finally told him of her true intentions Charlie became insanely jealous and volunteered to be the rec league referee. He showed up to the first game drunk and blamed her for the chaos of the game.
Trivia
- The actress who plays the waitress, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, is married to Charlie Day (who plays Charlie) in real life.
