KCCI is a CBS affiliate in Des Moines, Iowa. The station broadcasts on digital channel 8 and is owned by Hearst Television. It is also the Des Moines affiliate of MeTV, airing on subchannel 8.2, and it airs programming from Heroes & Icons and MyNetworkTV on 8.3.
The station was launched on July 31, 1955 with the call sign KRNT-TV, changing to its current calls in 1974. Current owner Hearst Television (then known as Hearst-Argyle Television) bought the station in 1998 as part of its purchase of the television assets of then-owner Pulitzer Inc.
