KGNS-TV is the NBC affiliate in Laredo, Texas. It broadcasts on digital channel 8. The station is owned by SagamoreHill Broadcasting. Its subcarriers are 8.2 (ABC) and 8.3 (Telemundo).
KGNS began broadcasting under the call KHAD on January 7, 1956 as an NBC affiliate with secondary CBS and ABC affiliations. It changed calls to KGNS is 1958. In 1973, new CBS station KVTV began broadcasting as a satellite of KZTV/Channel 10 in Corpus Christi. Then in 1984, new ABC station KLDO-TV began broadcasting (now a Univision affiliate). ABC returned to the Laredo market in 2014 making the station replace The CW on digital subchannel 8.2.
