KVIA-TV is an ABC affiliate in El Paso, Texas & Las Cruces, New Mexico. The station broadcasts on both digital and virtual channel 7, owned by the News-Press & Gazette Company.
KVIA began broadcasting in 1956 on channel 13 before switching its channel number to 7 when PBS member station KCOS broadcasted on channel 13. KVIA has been affiliated with ABC from the start. In 1976, the station had a satellite station called KAVE-TV channel 6 which lasted until 1993, that station had became KOCT, which served as a satellite for ABC affiliate KOAT-TV in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the station has now ceased its operation.
