The Show

Behind the Scenes

This was Burr's favorite episode and one he showed often, in addition to performing it live numerous times at puppetry festivals. The title song was an original composition written by Burr and Jack Fascinato.

Allusions and References

  • During the segment where Ollie and Fran are advertising executives, Fran requests "something PD" for the ad jingle from Jack Fascinato at the piano. PD is an abbreviation for "public domain"--that is, something out-of-copyright that doesn't require broadcast clearance. Jack's response is an appropriately euphemistic "Something everyone knows?"

Memorable Moments

Quotes

  • Kukla:
Lemonade, lemonade,
Freshly made in the shade.
It's nutritious
And delicious.
I've had some myself and fully guarantee the recipe.
If you try some, too, 'twould mean a lot to me financially.
Lemonade, lemonade,
Freshly made in the shade.
Won't you try some?
Won't you buy some?
All you can drink for only four cents, three cents,
For two cents I'll give you all of my lemonade.
