Season Four

Season Three of Kukla, Fran and Ollie premiered on August 8, 1949. It was the first full season broadcast over the national NBC network, and the first to originate from NBC-owned WNBQ (now WMAQ-TV) in Chicago.

During this season, KFO won a Peabody Award for children's programming. The committee cited the show's "whimsy and gentle satire of the James Barrie-Lewis Carroll sort".

The Kuklapolitan troupe also participated in a test broadcast from Washington, DC of a proposed RCA color broadcasting system.

Episode list

The majority of the 1949-50 season survives as kinescope film in the Burr Tillstrom Collection at the Chicago History Museum, with a small number of the remaining original film elements being donated to the UCLA television archive. A few episodes are missing and presumed lost, while the surviving prints of others are too damaged to transfer. Episodes unavailable for viewing are indicated with italic titles.

Several of these episodes have been released on DVD, and as of 2021 all but a handful have been transferred to digital format and posted to the official KFO YouTube channel.
