Basic Information

Nadia and Sayid used to be childhood friends. When they were little, Nadia used to push Sayid into the mud, which Sayid never realized was Nadia's way of showing affection.

As an adult, Nadia was taken into custody by the Republican Guard, who blamed her for a bombing. Sayid ended up being the man who would interrogate her for a confession. When Nadia arrived at the facility, Sayid did not recognize her at first, but Nadia soon reminded him of their childhood memories. Sayid was adament to get answers from Nadia, but couldn't get himself to torture her. Instead, they fell in love and Sayid would secretly sneak food in to Nadia's cell. Eventually Sayid's superior officer, Omar, felt that Nadia was no use to them and ordered Sayid to execute her. On their way to the execution room, Sayid released Nadia and told her what was happening. Just then, Omar arrived on the scene, but Sayid shot and killed him. He took her to a doorway that lead outside. He told her that there was a van outside that would be leaving soon. He told her to get on the van and leave. Sayid shot himself in the leg so that it would look like Nadia escaped on her own. Nadia did not want to leave Sayid, but he convinced her to go.

Nadia successfully escaped and left Iraq. Sometime around 1995, she was in London, England. She was attacked one day in an alley in Covent Garden, by a man who tried to mug her. Charlie Pace came upon the scene and rescued her. Nadia praised Charlie for his bravery and told him that he was a hero.

A few years later, Nadia moved to California. She had a home there and met with John Locke one day, who was a home inspector. Nadia told John that she was not married. After living in California for a few years, Nadia was unaware that the authorities had located her and knew about her history. Luckily for Nadia, they decided not to arrest her, but to use the information of her whereabouts in order to get Sayid's cooperation. What Nadia didn't know was that Sayid had been searching for her across the globe for all those years since she left Iraq.
