Season Ten of Mystery Science Theater 3000 premiered on April 11, 1999. As a special going away present for the fans, Joel Hodgson and Frank Conniff returned as Joel Robinson and TV's Frank in the season premiere. Joel repaired the Satellite of Love which had been programmed to fall apart after ten years. TV's Frank stopped by as a soultaker and played ring toss with Professor Bobo's soul. In the series finale, the Satellite of Love crashed to Earth. While Diabolik was the actual end to the series, the final aired episode was Merlin's Shop of Mystical Wonders due to movie contracting issues that had to be cleared up.

Mike and the Bots unwisely choose to decline any stock in Gypsy's start-up company "ConGypsco" which immediately makes her a millionaire. Instead, Mike and the Bots live together in a slummy apartment watching bad movies. In the series' final image, Mike and the Bots sit down to watch The Crawling Eye, the first official episode of the series.
