Name Droppers was a game show airing daytime on NBC. It is considered to be an imitation of Goodson-Todman's To Tell the Truth.
A panel of three celebrities, twenty members of the studio audience, and a "name dropper"--a person with a personal tie to one of the celebrities--participates. Each celebrity displays a possible tie to the name dropper and then asks him/her a question on how he/she may be related to them. The audience members vote for the celebrity they think is the right one. After the real celebrity tie with the name dropper is revealed, the name dropper receives $10 for each incorrect audience vote. Each audience member who voted correctly won $10. Two games are played each show; at the end of each game, two contestants vied for a bonus prize in telling why they voted as they did. The audience member with the most votes at the end of the week won a $1000 bonus.
