Plot Overview

The odds are stacked against Petrocelli's client, a country/rock music singer accused of killing a blackmailer: a group of fans saw him shove the dead man in a backstage scuffle, and his fingerprints were found at the murder scene. Despite being menaced by a pair of phony sheriff's deputies and an attempt at being bought off by one of his client's handlers, Tony persists in taking on the case. He discovers the reason for the blackmail: the dead man was the cellmate of a man who took the rap for a fatal hit-and-run accident that his client committed.
