Plot Overview
While filling in for an ailing Chaplain at a Marine base, Sarge makes the acquaintance of a young Private whom he suspects is being abused by his Sergeant. When the young man mysteriously disappears from base, Sarge suspects that the Sergeant may have had a hand in his disappearance, which was marked as AWOL. As Sarge digs deeper, he discovers that the Sergeant has a history of breaking down 'hill trash' recruits who were from the same part of the country as him.
