Basic Information

Although it debuted in 2003, the CNN show Anderson Cooper 360 and its anchor Anderson Cooper rose to prominence in the fall of 2005 with Cooper's coverage of the Hurricane Katrina disaster in New Orleans. In response, SNL parodied the show with Seth Meyers as Cooper interviewing several celebrities who were ineptly trying to help rebuild New Orleans.

Meyers' impression soon caught on, and he played the role several more times. He often portrayed Cooper as a sort of straight man, resigned to but annoyed by the insanity of his guests.
