Season Three of Sliders premiered on September 20, 1996. The first 'full length' season of Sliders saw a marked changed in direction for the series. Fox's desire to include more action and tension within the group changed characters dramatically, and conflict between the network and people including actor John Rhys-Davies and original creator Tracy Tormé saw them leaving in the middle of the season.

Due to many unoriginal stories and the removal of Professor Arturo, many fans see this as the unfortunate turning point for the series, but there were still some diamonds in the rough.
