Super Password is a game show that aired on NBC from 1984 to 1989. It is the fifth version of the Password show from 1961.
Game play is identical to the previous incarnation, Password Plus: passwords guessed are among five clues to a master word puzzle. The only difference is now opposites are allowed. $500 wins the game and plays the bonus round which is the same as the previous Alphabetics, although they call it "Super Password" here. Each time the big money prize is not won, it goes up $5000.
The other tweak here is the "Cashword." The team winning the second puzzle of a game plays a difficult word that they must convey in three clues for a cash prize that starts at $1000 and goes up $1000 each time it is not won.
Super Password has the second longest run of an NBC show at the 12 Noon Eastern time period. The longest run at 12 Noon goes to Jeopardy! (Sept. 27, 1965 - Jan. 4, 1974).
