Basic Information
Is the brother of Dean Winchester who was the one that came to him at college, asking for Sam's help to find there missing father.Sam joins Dean on the road hunting evil and searching for their father and the demon after 22 years later it also kills his girlfriend, Jessica. Sam was at Stanford University in California, studying to be a lawyer.
It is also revealed to Sam that he is supposed to lead the demon uprising.
He is also a psychic that can do exourcism by using his mind but for some reason dean and the angels forbid him to use his powers.
Character History
Sam was different from Dean who would always do as he's told. Sam ran away to college after being told by his father not to come back. He quit huntig until his brother came an got him years later.

- Jared Padalecki was approached for the role of Sam because creator Eric Kripke's wife was a big fan of Gilmore Girls, a drama on which Padalecki played Rory's first boyfriend, Dean Forester.
- Jared Padalecki cites Sam Winchester as his favorite character to play so far. He says before being cast in the role he was typically asked to play the "boy-next-door" and says he enjoys playing someone "more analytical" and intelligent.
Jarred Padalecki also plays a role in the new friday the 13th film.
