Plot Overview

Brette talks to Grant and suggests he get some rest but he tells her he wants to be with Judith when she wakes up. Ruby tells Reena she is worried about the Wheelers. Judith wakes and when she tries to move realizes she can't feel her legs and screams. Grant tries to calm Judith who learns she is paralyzed. Then Dr. Williams enters and gives her a sedative. Brette tells Rikki she fought with Mark because he is upset that Allison took some files that belong to World Oil and quit. Rikki tells her he has a meeting at the cabin and feels funny going there since it used to be Max's. Ruby tells Reena that Allison quit World Oil and took some files. Reena offers to help Mark out. Then Ruby tells Reena that Judith may never walk again. Doris tells Justin she is the detective that Brian hired and that for five years she used to be a hooker. She then tells Justin that she would like to stay on because of Gregory and it is the first real home she has ever had and Justin agrees that she should stay. Dr. Williams tells Judith and Grant that they will be doing extensive tests very soon. Then Judith asks Grant to keep the children away because she doesn't want their pity. Allison gives Justin the files from World Oil but he tells her he probably knows all the information in them already. But she tells him that World Oil doesn't know their clients without them. Lurlene and Elena talk about her possible interest in Dan but how Dan doesn't seem to reciprocate. Then Lurlene arranges to leave Dan and Elena alone. Justin and Allison meet with Billy Joe and tell him they are planning new ad campaign right away but Billy Joe doesn't want to do it. Then Allison tells Billy Joe he has no choice. Grant finds Reena in the hall and tells her that Judith is paralyzed. Grant tells Reena he can't leave her now because she is so fragile and needs him. Allison tells Billy Joe he is under contract to Marshall Oil until December 20 and that gives them time to get the commercials done. Mark and Brette make up and then they and Ruby see Grant and Brette asks what's wrong. Grant tells Mark, Brette and Ruby that Judith is paralyzed but the doctors don't know yet for how long and it may even be psychological. Then an upset Mark begs Grant to please help her. Rikki, Dan, Elena and Lurlene end their meeting with Lurlene offering to answer Rikki's fan mail. Then Joel arrives home and Rikki says he is glad he came to the cabin because he can see that they will be as happy there as Max was. Lurlene gets Dan to take Elena home and then she makes dinner for Joel. Grant tells Mark, Ruby and Brette to get some rest and he will stay because he needs to be here for Judith. Lurlene gives Joel a pair of dress boots and he tries to remind her that they will be living on a ranchers salary and he can't afford fancy things. Grant sees Judith lying in bed and remembers Reena in Palm Springs and Judith getting shot. Then he walks over to her bed and takes her hand. Grant tells a sleeping Judith that he doesn't know how she feels but knows if it weren't for her he would be in that bed instead of her.
