Plot Overview

5 families raced to Costa Rica, where Tony Paolo struggled to swim. He survived, of course, and wound up singing on the detour. The Linzes gained a lead on the trip back to the United States, but the Godlewskis, who started out in last place, grabbed an earlier fight and wound up in first. In Arizona, team members rode Super Karts around a track, which made the Weavers nervous. But Linda stepped up so her children didn't have to. The Godlewskis came in first while the Bransens bickered on the way to the Pit Stop and came in last but survived elimination. In the next leg, team members flew planes in loops. Rolly Weaver excelled yet another roadblock while Brian Paolo struggled. Then the New Yorkers took a slower route because of traffic. The Weavers annoyed the Godlewskis and ticked off the Linzes. During a detour that involved more water, the Linzes pulled ahead, but getting lost cost them first place yet again. The Godlewskis retained the lead and the Paolos were eliminated.
