Plot Overview
The lawyers go to bat for a poor but proud Mexican youth, who's been held in county lockup for seven months without benefit of trial, on charges of robbery and assault. The D.A.'s office is willing to kick him loose if he pleads guilty, but if he goes to trial, he's looking at anywhere from 10 to 20 years if he loses. The boy steadfastly declares his innocence and refuses to plead guilty to something he didn't do. Their only hope is to find the girl he was with at the time of the incident, a girl who was in the country illegally and fled back to Mexico, where Neil travels to try and track her down. While he's in Mexico, Walt and Brian bring the young man before the judge, but he endangers his case not only by angering the judge and being charged with contempt of court, but also by escaping custody and holing up in an apartment building, taking a hostage.
