Plot Overview

Marcia panics when she starts high school. As a sub-plot, Peter is building a clay and chicken-wire volcano on the patio for the science club he recently joined. Inspired, Marcia joins every club at school, including scuba, karate and ceramics; in an attempt to regain the same popularity she enjoyed in junior high. She is admitted to the highly exclusive "Boosters" club and during the initiation meeting held on the Brady's patio, Marcia becomes disillusioned when the rules of the club, including checking with the Boosters regarding clothing, friends, and dates, are revealed. Hilarity ensues as Peter's volcano erupts violently, spewing liquid clay all over the cliquish Boosters. Marcia goes into hysterics as the Boosters stalk off angrily and the lesson is learned that Marcia was trying for instant popularity and need only be herself and everyone would like her.

• Starting with this episode, Mike is seen driving a 1972 Chevrolet Impala convertible. This is the first time the main characters' primary vehicles were anything other than Chrysler Corp. products (other than Greg's used car in the Season Three episode "The Wheeler-Dealer").
