Trivia

The Show

  • Alarm Clock Opening: "This is Howard Stern, I want to apologize to the following groups: Latinos, Native Americans and Mothers Against Drunk Drivers. I guess the only one I can make fun of is that fat film critic Jay Sherman."
  • Opening Movie Parody: A parody of the scene where Julie Andrews sings in a field in The Sound of Music, the camera gets too close and accidentally hits her in the face, sending her careening off the side of a mountain.
  • Closing Theatre Shot: "Is the snack bar still open?"

Behind the Scenes

  • Network Screening: When the producers were showing two episodes to the new head of FOX, this was one of the two. At one point, his executives in the room with him started laughing uproariously when the Hee Haw: The Next Generation joke came on. The network head refused to believe that the joke was really funny, which was a clear sign to Al Jean that he was actively looking for reasons to cancel the series.
