The Pitts is a short-lived sitcom that briefly aired on FOX in spring of 2003. The series revolves the Pitt family, a typical sitcom family with one difference; they have the worst luck possible. The title of the series, of course, refers to both the family and the oft used phrase, "the pits" or the lowest of the low.
Impressions on the series is generally split. While many found the series to be insultingly pandering to the lowest common denominator with dull, formulaic plots, other saw it as a brilliant satire of sitcoms. Regardless, the show was cancelled on April 20, 2003 after only five episodes.
