The TV IV:Proposals/Featured Show (October 2005)

In the future, we will have a more detailed way of going about nominated featured shows. However, for the time being, this crude system will be implemented. What we currently need is your opinion of which show you would like to be the Featured Show on the main page for the month of October 2005. Give a reason for your decision. You may feel free to nominate any show you'd like on any grounds, including past Featured Shows, but please nominate a show that has some semblance of a set of articles up. You may make one vote for a show, but you may make multiple votes opposing a show or commenting as long as they are relevant. A random list of shows is listed below as an example of how to go about doing it, but feel free to add and comment on your own.

   2. It might be better to only have this apply around season premiere/season finale time? At least for the type of show that groups like this one is going to feature (Lost/VM/BSG), it's hard to get into a show during the season.       1. That's a good point, too. Especially during the summer lull when nothing is really on except Big Brother, and the December lull when every single show is on hiatus. 2. I'm not following why "featured show should be for shows that are still airing." I thought the main point for featured shows (as it's counterpart on Wikipedia) is that the article itself is of high quality. You're really voting for the article, not the show.    1. A lot of shows with loyal followings (Veronica Mars, Arrested Development, etc) are in danger of being cancelled, so every extra viewer counts. I don't think anyone's suggesting the featured show should be a current show with poor article content, but if the featured article can show off the site while maybe attracting a little extra attention to an underappreciated show, why not kill two birds with one stone? --Gma 00:53, 22 Sep 2005 (EDT)
   2. When we get around to making a Community Portal, we will probably have similar votes for Featured Articles, which will be different from a Featured Show.
