Allusions and References
- The character of H.G. Orson is a duel homage that centres on The War of the Worlds - H.G. Wells wrote the novel while Orson Welles adapted it into an infamous radio play.
- Beaumont alludes to Charles Beaumont who wrote several episodes of the original Twilight Zone. In fact, Jeff Morrow and Warren Stevens both appeared in episodes that happen to have been written by Beaumont.
- There are also other references scattered throughout the episode, such as saying the meteor was near Willoughby, which is a reference to "A Stop at Willoughby", and near another town named Matheson, for Richard Matheson, the noted science fiction author and writer of over a dozen episodes of the original Twilight Zone.
- The "Bradbury rays" are an obvious reference to science fiction writer Ray Bradbury.
