Season Two of The X-Files features a much deeper mythology than that of the first series. Gillian Anderson's maternity leave resulted in Scully's supposed abduction by aliens. This season introduced us to the character of Alex Krycek who would play a large role in the conspiracy surrounding Agents Mulder and Scully.
