Plot Overview

Tamsin meets Nic, because they hadn't really spoken since Bangkok, and ends up taking him home where they make love. She tries to convince herself that she can now marry Sam with a clear conscience. The wedding is taking place on the London Eye, where Tamsin breaks down and tells Sam that she can't go through with marrying him, to everybody's great embarrassment. Later she calls Jeremy and takes him up on the job offer he extended to her in Sydney.

Ned tells a journalist about the accident in Thailand, greatly embellishing his role in the event. He becomes romantically interested in Lizzie and agrees to accompany her to Tamsin's wedding, but when his agent recommends he be seen with a blonde model, he backs out and fibs to Lizzie that Veya is an old friend of his. Lizzie realizes he lied when Veya doesn't speak any English (nor Ned any Russian).

On his wedding night, Charlie shows up in Callum's room who is having none of it. Charlie mentions that Callum will be deported because the new visa was rejected and it later turns out that Charlie sabotaged the application. Callum returns to London. After Tamsin's wedding, Lizzie and Callum get back together.

Nic is temporily living with Flick who would like a more permanent arrangement, but he admits to Ned that he is crazy about Tamsin. Nic is on a business trip in Zagreb, Croatia, when he receives the news of the canceled wedding during a meeting. He drops everything and rushes home, barely managing to catch Tamsin before she leaves for Sydney. He stays in London while she is off to Australia.

Annabel is in the hospital. She suffers from endometriosis and is afraid that the agency won't agree to the adoption if they learn of her condition. Jeremy is joined by Ned in Bangkok where they pick up the child, who turns out to be the boy orphaned in the boat accident.

Arc Advancement

Characters

  • Sarah: Simon gives Tamsin a video recording from her late mother. He also reveals that his marrying Cecily was actually Sarah's idea. Sarah sent Tamsin to Lydia because she wanted Tamsin to feel alive and not just let life happen to her.
  • James: After his epiphany, James and his wife have sold the factory and intend to buy a bookshop.

Trivia

Quotes

  • Ned (in Puss-in-Boots costume): The director felt that if I'd put on the costume, I'd become the character. How do you become a bloody cat?
Lizzie: Our cat used to lick its genitals and cough up fur balls.
  • Ned: People change. They grow with experience.
Nic: You don't. Just stick to hollow empty sex with unnaturally tall, anorexic shallow women. It's what you're best at.
  • Lizzie: Hi! I'm Lizzie. Ned said you two're really old friends.
Veya: Очень приятно, я не говорю по-англиский. (Russian: Nice to meet you, [but] I don't speak English.)
  • Tamsin: My career is in the toilet, I'm broke, and the man I want to be with is on the other side of the world. I haven't…I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing.
Lydia: Your mother would be so proud of you.
