WCW WorldWide was an American professional wrestling program which aired in syndication. Originally known as Wide World Wrestling from its debut in 1975 to 1978, then as World Wide Wrestling from 1978 to 1993, as WCW Worldwide Wrestling from 1993 to 1996 and then simply as WCW WorldWide from 1996 until the show ended production on March 21, 2001, it was produced and syndicated by Jim Crockett Promotions (under the oversight of the National Wrestling Alliance) until 1988, then by JCP successor World Championship Wrestling from 1988 until the end of its run. As Wide World Wrestling, the show had evolved from an earlier syndicated wrestling program produced by JCP, All Star Wrestling, which had begun production at WRAL-TV in Raleigh, North Carolina in 1959.[1]
The JCP/WCW program archive, including WCW WorldWide, was purchased by World Wrestling Entertainment in 2001 following the demise of WCW, and is currently part of its WWE Libraries division.
